National editors’ group recognizes AAJA members

AAJA Seattle member Nicole Tsong has been named one of this year’s Diversity Fellows by the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors. The fellowship is awarded to journalists of color who specialize in features coverage to attend the AASFE annual conference, which takes place in Houston this October. As one of five fellows, Nicole will meet other journalists who specialize in lifestyles coverage and hear about what other features sections are doing. The national association also recognized AAJA Seattle member Karen Gaudette in this year’s Excellence in Feature Writing contest. She received an honorable mention in feature specialty reporting for a collection of stories. Congratulations can be sent to kgaudette@seattletimes.com.
